LONDON AMBULANCE COLLECTION

LONDON AMBULANCE COLLECTION

Sorry. This visit is now fully booked.

This is a wonderful opportunity to view, and talk with the staff about, their historic vehicle and equipment collection, ranging from the early 20th century to the present day. Our guides will be volunteers who were, or are, involved with London’s Ambulance Service. The collection includes plans, documents, books, equipment, badges, medals, uniforms and, most importantly, over 20 ambulances.

The ambulances in the collection range from early hand- or horse-drawn carriages up to more modern vehicles from the 1980s and 1990s. The collection holds an example of ambulances which would have attended almost every major incident and emergency in London in the last 100 years.

The collection is based at Kemsing in Kent.  Parking nearby is very limited, so please make your own way to Kemsing by train. There is a departure for Kemsing from Victoria at 10:55, arriving at 11:35. We will schedule up to three hours for the visit, to ensure everyone gets a full opportunity to ask questions and to take pictures of the collection. Tea and coffee will be available, but please bring your own food if you wish, as there are no food outlets nearby.
