Isle of Wight Drewry Railcar Trip

Isle of Wight Drewry Railcar Trip

Isle of Wight Drewry Railcar Trip

Wednesday 16 September

Our tour associates ATTC have been working on this trip for five years and now it is ready to roll. It is one of ATTC’s Gold Badge Premium Tours operated just for the Friends on a private charter basis by the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. It involves travel on the unique Drewry railcar and trailer, which operated on the Ryde Pier Tramway from 1927 until the tramway closed on 26 January 1969.

The Railcars have been re-built to the very highest standard of accuracy. They have been fitted with more powerful JCB engines to be able to cope with the substantial gradients of the steam line. Travellers will get great views from the large windows. Each car is now limited to 20 passengers, so please book straight away, for this ultimate day of varied forms of transport.
