Harry Barker’s presentation will cover the role of Community Rail Partnerships, particularly the East Lothian CRP (where Harry was Chair from formation in 2014 until 2024). It will examine CRP successes to date, with a cautionary note on funding following the gradual nationalisation into Great British Railways.
Changing from train to bus, Harry will talk also about Bus Users UK. Bus Users is a highly professional, financially secure charitable company with substantial powers, supporting the bus industry and bus passengers.
Finally, Harry will touch on franchising and bus/rail connectivity and the unforeseen ramifications of The Equality Act (2010).
The talk will be illustrated with a wide selection of photographs drawn from across the UK, including London - old and new.
Join Harry in the Cubic Theatre at the London Transport Museum on Monday 11th May at 18:15.
