In June 2025, Southeastern and Network Rail Kent Route formally united under a single leadership team to form South Eastern Railway – the first in a new generation of vertically integrated passenger rail operators, under public ownership, to be set up on the path towards the creation of Great British Railways.
Led by Steve White, the single team is now responsible for both track and train, a key enabler for the proposed rail reform.
In this session, Steve will reflect on the opportunities and challenges of vertical integration, both in South Eastern and London Underground, and look forward to the development of UK rail vertically, horizontally and digitally as rail reform gathers momentum.
Join Steve in the Cubic Theatre at the London Transport Museum on Monday 9th February at 18:15.
