Sam Mullins OBE, director of LTM from 1994 to 2023, reflects on the origins of public interest in railway heritage, the first transport museums, the origins of the LTM in the 1920s at Acton Works, first steps at Clapham and Syon Park, and itsrole today as the world’s leading museum of urban transport.
