Friends grants 2025/26

At their meeting in April, the Friends’ Trustees agreed grants to the following LTM curatorial projects in 2025/6:

  • Q Stock – ongoing support for the restoration of  three cars to operational condition
  • Survey of condition of pre-Second World War road vehicles, to assess restoration priorities/costs
  • Vehicle interpretation (new digital display screen for external appearances)
  • Feltham Tram 355 (digital recording of vehicle interior)
  • Restoration of Tower Wagon 89Q (Radiator Header Tank)  
  • RM2 engine investigation for repair
  • RT4712 seats re-upholstery
  • Met carriage 400 seat restoration
  • Standard Stock structural survey and preparation work for non-operational display restoration of one car
  • Heritage bus operations
  • Signalling equipment display
  • 1967 tube stock engineering display
  • Project Curator (heritage skills project)

 

 

Additionally, funding was approved for these non-curatorial projects:

  • Acton Access Learning Officer 
  • Part funding of role to deliver Inspire Engineering Careers and Green Skills Hackathon

 

Excluding Q-stock (on which expenditure is budgeted at £292,000, with funding release according to restoration progress), these grants total roundly £130,000.
