Following completion of restoration work by volunteers on the car interior, Q38 car 4416 has left Acton Depot for Rampart at Chesterfield, where electrical and other work will be undertaken under contract.
Car 4417, already at Rampart for similar work, should return to Ruislip depot later in the summer.
The volunteers are finishing the interior restoration of Q35 trailer car 08063, which will then follow the other two cars to Rampart.
When all cars return to London following completion of their restoration Rampart, they will then be subject to further testing as an operational unit.
There is realistic hope that Q-stock passenger operation could start in 2027.
