HERITAGE BUSES AT AMERSHAM

HERITAGE BUSES AT AMERSHAM

London Transport Museum (and its Friends) organised heritage buses to run between Amersham station and Amersham Old Town on Sunday 8th September, in connection with the 1938 tube stock runs and Amersham Heritage Day events in the Old Town.

LTM operated its Routemaster coach RCL 2229, supplemented by RM 1005, kindly loaned for the day by Lord Hendy of Richmond Hill. These two buses carried a total of 2,121 passengers during the day.

Additional services were operated by the Amersham and District Motor Omnibus Society.

The accompanying photo by Nigel Eadon-Clarke shows RCL 2229 climbing the hill to Amersham station.
