BRAKE VANS OFF FOR RESTORATION

BRAKE VANS OFF FOR RESTORATION

The Museum's two ex-Underground brake vans have left Acton Depot for restoration at Rampart Engineering at Barrow Hill, Derbyshire.

The two brake vans are an integral part of the Q-stock restoration project. They will act as "match wagons" to enable the Q-stock cars to be coupled to battery locomotives for movements on the Underground system; and will also provide the space for interpretative displays about the Q-stock restoration and the importance of the cars in Underground and London history.
