FRIENDS SUCCESS AT ACTON
The Friends' sales stall had a particularly successful Depot Open Weekend in late September (22nd to 25th) . Sales of donated items totalled just under £10,000 over the five days (including the special stall opening for Friends on Wednesday 21st). The precise figure was £9957, bringing the sales total in 2022 to date to an amazing £32,000.
Sales revenue is used by the Friends to fund Museum projects and programmes.
39 new Friends were recruited over the weekend, with promises from more visitors to sign up later on line.
As usual, Friends supported the weekend in many other ways, including demonstrations of the popular heritage train engineering and signalling displays and stewarding and maneuvering the heritage buses.
