TAXI HERITAGE AT UXBRIDGE

TAXI HERITAGE AT UXBRIDGE
London Transport Museum and its Friends supported London Vintage Taxi Association's display of 21 cabs at the Uxbridge Autoshow on Sunday 21st July, with the attendance of the Museum's Metrocab taxi P35 and the 1950s taximeter trailer. The overall event was organised by Uxbridge Rotary Club as part of their charity fundraising programme.

It is thought that the trailer had not been placed on public display outside Acton Depot previously and it attracted considerable attention.

The Metrocab, although not particularly 'old', represents one of a limited number of these vehicles in London service and one of the first to be designed to accept wheelchair passengers.

The Metrocab took part in the moving display around the event arena, in procession with other LVTA vehicles.
