FRIENDS SUPPORTED PROJECTS 2026

Projects completed (or nearing completion) from the 2025/6 funding allocation include:

• Tram 353: Digital recording of vehicle interior;
• Met 400 carriage: Seat restoration;
• Tower Wagon 89Q: Replacement of radiator header tank;
• RT4712: Refurbishment of seat upholstery;
• Finchley War Memorials: Restoration of memorials to bus and tram staff formerly at Hendon and Finchley garages.

From 2026/7, the Friends have agreed with the Museum that all available and uncommitted funding will be devoted to supporting the LTM 50 refurbishment project at Covent Garden.

Friends will continue to fund the Q-stock restoration and heritage bus operations.

Discussions are also being held with LTM about how a substantial legacy will be spent on a bus restoration project, in line with the donor's wishes.
