Q-STOCK AT RAMPART

Restoration work on the Q-stock continues at Rampart Engineering at Chesterfield.

In the accompanying photo, Q38 car 4417 is seen at Rampart on 21 July. Work is progressing on the overhaul of motors, wheelsets and underfloor electrical equipment. The newly installed compresor ran for the first time on this date.

Car 4416 is also at Rampart and similar work will be undertaken once work on 4417 is complete. Q35 trailer 08063 will follow later in 2026 to give an operational three-car set.
