A team of Friends have been helping out at the eight day Tube 150 event on the Epping Ongar Railway in late June.
Met steam Loco No 1 was on loan there, along with 1892 Met Jubilee coach 353. Both have been operating in a special train, formed also of Met Dreadnought coaches on hire from the Vintage Carriages Trust and a 1950s’ BR suburban coach from the North Norfolk Railway.
Friends’ volunteers acted as carriage stewards on coach 353 and also provided a Friends’ information and sales service in the Museum’s new mobile display vehicle at North Weald.
The next Tube 150 steam event is at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on 3rd, 4th and 7th August.
