BARD AND BARGE

BARD AND BARGE

Welcome aboard our “Gold Badge Bard and Barge Tour”. This is a luxury day out to Stratford on Avon, with a sumptuous three-course lunch on board the delightful 70-foot wide beam restaurant cruiser “Countess of Evesham”.

During lunch we will have a guided tour along some of the most interesting stretches of the gently flowing River Avon.  And none better to guide us than Roger Bailey the Blue Badge Guide on our recent Morse Oxford Tour, who many participants said was so knowledgeable and easy to understand.

At the end of our lunch cruise, Roger will take us on a tour of Stratford, covering the main tourist points of interest.  These will include the homes where Shakespeare was born and died and the three main theatres; one of these is the current home of the Royal Shakespeare Company, which was built in 1932 and had Anthony Quayle and Sir Peter Hall amongst its illustrious artistic directors.  We will also travel to Shottery to see Anne Hathaway’s beautiful cottage, and much more.

By coach fronm St Pancras  at 08.15 on Saturday 4th April, returning at 19.30 (approx).
