WELSH EXTRAVAGANZA

Friends will meet from 08:45 in the First Great Western Executive Lounge on Platform 1 at Paddington. FGW are putting on a Pullman Restaurant Car and crew on the Swansea train departing at 09:45, just for the Friends’ party. Once seated in the luxurious leather reclining seat in Pullman First Class, the hardest part will be choosing from the extensive breakfast menu.

 

At 11:46, we arrive at Cardiff Central and join one of Cardiff Buses’ new double-deckers for the 50 minute journey to Pant (Brecon Mountain Railway) station. We will be travelling over the full extent of the BMR, including the new extension: a one hour and thirty minute round trip.  There will be a buffet meal at Pant Station, and a presentation about building and running a heritage railway. On the return journey to Cardiff Central we will visit Cardiff Buses’ main depot, and will be given an update on their current and future operations.

 

 

At 19:25, we depart for Paddington, travelling in First Class. Complimentary refreshments will be provided from the buffet car. Arrival at Paddington is at 21:32, when each guest will be presented with a souvenir cup and saucer set with both the Pullman and the FGW crest.
