1967 Tube stock engineering project

1967 Tube stock engineering project

The talk will explain that the objective of this major project is to show visitors to the Museum Depot at Acton the working of the original Victoria line train equipment mounted on the carriage underframe. It will demonstrate the operation of the traction control equipment controlling the speed of the motors on the bogies when operated either by the train operator in the cab or by the automatic driving equipment fitted to the 1967 tube stock. It is planned to extend the project to demonstrate the passenger door operating mechanism and the train brake equipment

The work carried out to date to prepare the train cab, kindly donated by the rolling stock scrapping contractor, and the equipment obtained from the trains prior to scrapping, will be described. The make-up of the Friends project team will be detailed, with the expertise that individuals bring to the project.

This project is being fully funded and carried out by the Friends on behalf of the Museum. Underground Engineering
