Croydon Airport: The Glory Years of Air Travel

Croydon Airport: The Glory Years of Air Travel

From 1916 through to 1959, Croydon was at the forefront of the air travel revolution. Many of the innovations we take for granted today were born at Croydon. As well as being the start and finish point of numerous pioneering flights, it was an RAF Battle of Britain station during WW2. This presentation will trace the history and personalities associated with what was once London and the UK’s principal airport.
